Transparency Ledger: Economic Audits
The Rational Foundation Plan is built like an open-source engineering project. The economy does not stand still, and neither should our math.
To ensure radical transparency and structural integrity, we run periodic audits against the latest macroeconomic data from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the Federal Reserve, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) — and structural audits of the mandate against itself.
We publish the findings whether they flatter us or not. An audit that only ever confirms the plan is not an audit. Where a correction made our numbers worse, it is in the ledger below with the before and after.
You can view our audit logs below:
-
August 2026 — Structural Audit: Health Security Act — The Act’s cost analysis had drifted from the fiscal model and stated a public-option cost roughly half the tracked figure. Reconciled. Adverse selection, the strongest technical objection to any public option, was unaddressed anywhere in the framework; it now has risk adjustment, reinsurance, and named entry and exit thresholds.
-
August 2026 — Structural Audit: The Remaining Ten Acts — Seven precedent defects, including a citation of Article II §2 as the source of Congressional oversight power (it enumerates the President’s powers) and reliance on a court decision that had been vacated. All corrected. Includes an addendum on the twelfth act, which the audit’s own scope line had missed.
-
August 2026 — Philosophical Consistency Audit — All 179 published documents tested against Rational National Self-Interest. The stated regulatory philosophy was anti-centralist while the flagship programs were centralizing, and nothing reconciled the two. It does now — and blanket student debt cancellation was dropped as inconsistent with the framework’s own standard.
-
June 2026 Economic Audit — Analyzed post-inflation CPI, 2026 CBO Medicare Baseline, and Fed DFA Wealth Concentration.
How the checks run
Eight automated validators run on every change, in a pre-commit hook and again in CI: tracked figures and their derived cascades, component sums against stated totals, non-monetary claims, EN/ES translation parity, internal links, audit-record integrity, philosophical consistency, and build safety.
They catch arithmetic, drift, and broken references. They cannot catch a precedent that argues against the provision citing it, or a change that is individually reasonable and collectively off-basis. Those need a human reading against a checklist, which is why the audits above exist.
